#3: Chicken Finger Household
Scenario:
Our kids will only eat macaroni and cheese or chicken fingers. We, on the other hand, are getting tired of these limited choices and would like to try different foods but we know that they will not like it.
Suggestions:
Variety is key to healthy eating. Catering to individual tastes is what creates picky eaters. Cook for yourself and invite your kids to join you. Try to introduce new items together with familiar ones. Involve kids in the preparation of these new items. They will be more likely to try them. For example, serve a vegetable dish along with macaroni and cheese. Kids need to have repeated exposures to foods before they are willing to try them. Be patient and with time, kids will be willing to try new things.
