#6: Grazers

#6: Grazers

Scenario:

My child has a very small appetite and grazes throughout the day. She is not hungry at mealtime and does not want to sit at the table and eat with us.

Suggestions:

While kids need to eat snacks in addition to meals to meet their energy needs and fit their smaller appetite, it is necessary to structure meals and snacks. Allow at least 2 hours between snacks and meals. If your child does not eat at a meal, and is hungry before the next meal or snack, tell your child to wait for the next meal or snack. That is how you will build a structure and will ensure readiness for the next meal or snack.
